§ 72-143. Protecting habitat.
Prior to any development which is likely to impact an area populated by federally or state listed endangered, threatened, or species of special concern the applicant must demonstrate that the habitat for such species is either being preserved on-site or that off-site mitigation which is consistent with federal, state and regional policies is being accomplished. In addition, all development which is likely to generate or attract increased boating activity in an area known to be frequented by manatees shall establish an area specific manatee protection plan in cooperation with FDEP and U.S. Fish and Wildlife service to ensure long range manatee and habitat protection.
